# Migrate from Statuspage or Instatus

> Import your components, incident history, and subscribers in a few minutes.

Sentivel imports a page from Atlassian Statuspage or Instatus: components with
their grouping, up to 500 incidents of history with every customer-facing update,
and confirmed email subscribers. The import is idempotent. Run it twice and
nothing is added twice.

## Get your API key and page ID

For Statuspage: open your avatar menu and choose **API info**. Copy the API key
and the page ID shown beside it.

For Instatus: create a key under **Developer settings**. The page ID is in the
dashboard URL.

## Run the import

1. In Sentivel, go to **Status pages → Import from Statuspage or Instatus**.
2. Pick the source and paste the key and page ID.
3. Choose the Sentivel page to import into and press **Import**.

You get back a summary of what was added and what was skipped. The key is used
once for the fetch and never stored.

<Note>
  Scheduled maintenance windows are not imported. They are a different object in
  Sentivel. The summary counts how many were skipped so you can recreate the
  upcoming ones under **Maintenance**.
</Note>

## Finish the switch

1. Attach a monitor to each imported component. Imported components carry their
   history but have no checks until you add one.
2. Map your third-party dependencies (the providers your components rely on).
   When one has an incident, Sentivel posts a provider-attributed advisory on
   your page and clears it on resolution.
3. Point your status subdomain's `CNAME` at Sentivel under the page's
   custom-domain settings and verify.
4. Confirm the new page, then cancel the old subscription.

## What subscribers receive

Imported subscribers were confirmed on your old page and stay confirmed here.
They get email notifications from your Sentivel page's incident updates. No
re-subscription step.
